Book Review: “The Good Kill” -Author Kurt Brindley

I was given the opportunity to read “The Good Kill” written by author, Kurt Brindley. I don’t usually do book reviews on this blog, but due to Mr. Brindley generously giving me a copy to review on Amazon, I wanted to share my thoughts with any followers here on WordPress as well.

The book tells a fascinating tale, which follows the story of Killian Lebon, an ex- Navy Seal who dives head first into the dark and dirty underworld of kingpins, killers, drugs and sex trafficking.

This is a gritty read depicting a realistic and disturbing world. I would say this is not for those faint of heart, but then again…it would serve as an eye opener for the masses to realize the tragic truth of these terrible things occurring all over the world. More vigilance and awareness of the sex trafficking trade and drug cartel is needed.

Jumping off my soapbox…

First, a disclaimer: This is not my usual read as far as genre. Aside from that…BOOM! Mr. Brindley blew me away!

I was absolutely drawn into this story right from the beginning. This is a gritty and enthralling novel. Kurt Brindly is a great story teller and provides such knowledgeable detail to make one consider he was there, in this dark and dangerous world, if not experiencing it – then certainly taking serious notes! Incredible. The skilled way he draws us into the mind of each character is not only impressive but keeps the reader even more captivated by the story. The character development is outstanding. The dialogue, which some authors struggle with, I found to be very natural and realistic.

As far as the character becoming addicted to heroin so quickly and completely, as one reviewer mentioned with doubt , – I say YES, absolutely realistic.

The writing flow is very smooth and an enjoyable experience. When I was not reading I was thinking about getting back to this book, asap. Certain characters and storylines haunting me, calling me back. I don’t want to give you too much detail, and blow individual experience.

The subject matter is very dark and disturbing, and unfortunately more real than most people realize. The sex trafficking trade is real, folks. I wish there was a Killian Lebon taking down scumbags, or is there?

Intriguing and well written. I’m happy I was given the opportunity to read this book.
