Fires from Heaven

Nothing captivates or stirs my imagination more than the wondrous beauty of the night skies.

What inspires you?

Fires from Heaven

A poem by Joan Wiley

Oh, starry, starry sky

Your lights,

your lights are falling

fires from heaven,

in glorious

resplendent array

Dusty sparks of glitter,

streaking gold

in mirrors of blue

Sighing in silence

Singing praises, with

wordless phrases

of pride

Flashing reflections

in dreamy eyes

Falling for

a universal calling

into love, that

glorious wander

of wonder, in wonder.

A ponderance

Where vanity comes

before an epic fall

Burning away

bright sanity trails

Waiting, I wait,

never seeing

the impact

of these slow,

spectacular deaths
