Every writer has a unique voice and style, but not every voice and style is appealing to all readers. However, I will eagerly suggest that author Nannette Kreitzman’s beautiful voice and smooth writing style are the combination to draw readers back for more, story after story.
Kreitzman is a short story writer who is one of the best in the field. Some may believe short story writing is simple, requiring less work or skill. The truth is quite the contrary. Short story writers take on the stringent task of creating a compact story complete with all the same elements as a full sized novel. They attempt to quickly define realistic characters, setting, and an arcing plotline that captures the attention of readers, puts them on the roller coaster, and supplies a satisfying ride to the end.
Kreitzman achieves this with consistent excellence throughout her short story collection, Grim Secrets: Tale if Murder, Manipulation and Loss.

My Review:
“Intricate Storytelling that Draws You in and Slowly Steals Your Blanket!”
Nannette Kreitzman finely weaves five full-bodied short stories. Each one takes us into a pivotal point in time of the main character’s life where a series of events bring eye opening revelations, or forces them to make crucial decisions. Each story is told in a different genre, and with completely different themes, and I loved the variety.
While all five are excellent tales, my favorites were the last two, “Fire and Ice” and “When the Third Sun Rises”. The third story “When a Good Man Dies” is a very touching, sad story, and the only one I would say closes with a more defined ending. The others close well, but do leave a bit of lingering mystery and a desire to know more of what may happen with the main characters. I found this dangling method as devilish as it is delicious on the author’s part!
Nannette Kreitzman has a knack for exemplary story telling that draws readers right in. Her attention to small details, such as a character’s gesture of running a finger over the edge of a plate to get the last delicious taste of pie, are what makes her characters so realistic. The author’s voice is beautiful and nearly a comfort as she coaxes us into uncomfortable territory.
I loved reading this collection and highly recommend it. I look forward to reading more stories by Author Nannette Kretzman!
